Supervision
Supervision is for professionals and managers who work with people. My practice focuses on individuals working in education and healthcare. Supervision is not so much about achieving a goal, but rather about embarking on a journey of exploration.
Some common reasons why people choose supervision:
- You are unsure about a decision: did I set the right boundary with this client/colleague?
- You recognise a recurring pattern: why do I keep getting stuck in this type of conversation?
- You feel unexplained resistance or emotion: why did this session affect me so personally?
- You evaluate your actions against your professional standards: did I act in a professionally responsible manner?
Methodology
How a supervision trajectory works
Supervision follows a clear, formal process from the initial meeting and learning objectives to a structured series and an evaluation. A trajectory typically consists of 10 sessions, so you know exactly what to expect.
STEP 1 | 1 meeting
Getting to know each other
A no-obligation meeting to explore your requirements, your expectations, and whether there is a rapport. We briefly discuss the methodology so that you — and any potential employer — understand what supervision entails.
Step 2 | session
Learning objectives & contract
We formulate concrete learning objectives and record agreements in a supervision contract: number of sessions, frequency, confidentiality and — in the case of an employer — the feedback process. This ensures clarity on what to expect beforehand.
Step 3 | 8 - 12 sessions
Supervision series
The core of the trajectory: a structured series in which you explore your own professional input and case studies per session. We reflect step-by-step on your actions, your role, and the patterns that become visible within them.
Step 4 | 1 to 2 sessions
Evaluation & completion
Together, we look back at the learning objectives: what has changed, and what will you take forward? Where necessary, I provide a report or statement for registration or your employer, ensuring the trajectory is also formally concluded.

Frequently asked questions
Wat is het verschil tussen coaching en supervisie?
Supervision focuses specifically on the professional role and actions within the field of expertise, while coaching can deal more broadly with personal and professional development in general.
Will my employer pay for supervision?
In many cases, the employer pays (part of) the supervision costs, especially if supervision is mandatory for re-registration or professional development — it is advisable to discuss this with your employer beforehand.
Hoeveel sessies zijn nodig?
A standard supervision trajectory consists of 10 sessions. If necessary, the number of sessions can be adjusted.
Kan het online?
Normally, the supervision sessions take place on-site in Rotterdam. In exceptional cases, it is possible to hold sessions online.
